Personality: Leonians think and act bigger than others would normally dare; the ambitiousness of their schemes and idealism sometimes daunt their followers, their practical hardheadedness and ability to go straight to the heart of any problem reassures those who depend on them. If Leonians meet with setbacks they thrive on the adversity. On the whole they are powers for good, for they are strongly idealistic, humane, and beneficent. They have powerful intelligence and are of a broad philosophical, sometimes religious, turn of mind.

They are excellent organizers and overseers, often laying the groundwork fornew projects. If from the artisan ranks of society they will aspire tobecome the boss, partly because they are ambitious by nature, partly because they dislike manual labor, preferring to take charge of others doing it.

In his or her relations with others the Leo type is open, sincere, genuine and trusting. Outgoing, spontaneously warm hearted and plain spoken, though never lacking in kindliness, Leos are more disillusioned than the average if let down by those they trust. History: Kylie Mayfield-Bergren is the youngest daughter of a long, pureblood line. She grew up immersed in the high culture of pureblood society, betrothed to a rich heir. As a loyal daughter she met and formed friendships with many of her pure peers. But Kylie found that one could be a bitch no matter their bloodline, and formed rather strong negative opinions of families she should be getting along with best.

When she left Hogwarts, Kylie went onto a venture into the muggle world to indulge her innate curiosity – she was Ravenclaw. Kylie fell into a group of artists and political activists and found their company invigorating, freeing. She returned to the Wizarding world to break her engagement and wrangle her inheritance.

Kylie met and married a young American expatriate, Samson Bergren. Samson is not a terribly successful artist, but his free spirit gave him the open mind to marry a witch. As newly weds, they lived off of Kylie’s purloined inheritance, but as they both grew more involved in the political scene Kylie began organizing fundraising benefits – and soon was highly sought after and richly paid.

Naia was born after a careful planning, generally uncharacteristic of the bohemian bourgeois couple. At the age of three, Naia desperately wanted to be a witch for Halloween. Kylie originally refused, knowing that Naia was referring to the ugly sterotype of green skin, warts, and unfashionable black hats. Naia begged, and Kylie relented and took her to meet some real witches – Hogwarts classmates that Kylie had kept in touch with. Naia was fitted for her first set of robes and wore them for Halloween. She was excited to be a real witch.

Kylie was particularly close to her brother Thomas. Thomas’ wife, Corina, didn’t approve of Kylie’s choice of spouse and so Naia never knew her aunt. But Thomas made every effort to know and befriend Naia. He introduced Naia to her cousin Colin when she was 5 and Colin was 8. Unfortunately, Thomas died when Naia was 7 – profoundly galvanizing her mother against her upbringing, cementing Naia’s fear of death, and effectively removing Colin from her life until she reached Hogwarts.
